Board Meeting Highlights
June 18, 2025

Financial Overview

The Operating Fund showed a year-to-date shortfall of $3,482; however, collecting outstanding dues this month could balance it for the year. The Charitable Trust reported revenues of $35,384 from Andover Cares, $50,262 from Citizens Who Care, $7,709 from other contributions, and $12,949 in additional donations. These contributions will be available for the next fiscal year starting July 1.

Club Achievements

President-reported highlights included strong youth engagement in Interact and Rotary Readers, widespread member participation in service projects, and impactful grants. A full list of initiatives will be distributed shortly. The Board approved grants of $2,500 each to Lazarus House and Andover News, plus $500 to Great Dog Rescue New England, following their founder's club presentation on June 6th. The remaining budget balance of approximately $6,874 (of the total budget $73,450) was allocated to the endowment.

Member Engagement

Meeting attendance averaged 45.8% this year, with a weekly increase of about 10 members and guests. The Weekly Buzz newsletter has boosted participation by keeping non-attending members informed, contributing to heightened service involvement.

Governance Updates

The Club and Charitable Trust bylaws were revised this year. Trust subcommittees will now report to the Charitable Trust Committee, creating more opportunities for member participation.

Long-Range Planning

Claudia Soo Hoo led efforts to refine the club's mission, guiding discussions on our "North Star" to shape the Rotary Club of Andover's future.

Stay tuned for more updates and thank you for your continued commitment to service!
